Got a brand new telescope, or maybe an old one gathering dust, that you need some help learning to use? TASM will be hosting a Telescope 101 workshop in partnership with the Astronomy Club of Tulsa from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019 in the Planetarium lobby.
This free event is open to the public and will have members of the Astronomy Club of Tulsa on hand to assist anyone who may have received a telescope as a gift or have an old one in the closet, learn how to assemble and operate it properly.
If you plan to attend please RSVP in a time slot below. Be sure to bring all accessories and manuals that come your with telescope. Due to the demand, we have limited the number reservation we can take. If there are no RSVP time slots shown below, please RSVP via the “Wait list.”
Only one RSVP per family or per telescope is needed, not individual RSVPs.
During the workshop, the Planetarium will be running the fulldome feature show “Two Small Pieces of Glass” beginning at 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., also free. The show is all about telescopes. Regularly scheduled Planetarium shows will resume at 2 p.m.
The Astronomy Club of Tulsa was founded in 1937 and is a volunteer-run, nonprofit club of over 150 members with a domed observatory located south of Tulsa.
